Hernandez Concludes Round One of 2024 USGA U.S. Amateur
CHASKA, Minn. – Kelvin Hernandez of the UNC Greensboro (UNCG) men's golf team concluded round one of the 2024 USGA U.S. Amateur at Hazeltine National Golf Club in Chaska, Minnesota, on Monday.
The Caguas, Puerto Rico, native carded a five-over-par (77) in the opening round. Hernandez saw his best scores on holes six and seven on the day with two consecutive birdies.
The assembled 312 players will play two rounds at Hazeltine National Golf Club after which the field will be trimmed to 64 for match play, which runs Wednesday through Sunday's 36-hole championship match.
Round one will be concluded by end of Monday, determining everyone's placing heading into the second round on Tuesday.
Hernandez is set to tee off for round two of the 2024 USGA U.S. Amateur on Tuesday, August 13 at Hazeltine National Golf Club.
