McIlvaine Paces Women’s Golf After Day One of Reynolds Lake Oconee Invitational

GREENSBORO, Ga. – The UNC Greensboro (UNCG) women's golf team is tied for 10th after the first of three days and three rounds at the Reynolds Lake Oconee Invitational, hosted by Mercer at Great Waters Course in Greensboro, Georgia.

GREENSBORO, Ga. – The UNC Greensboro (UNCG) women's golf team is tied for 10th after the first of three days and three rounds at the Reynolds Lake Oconee Invitational, hosted by Mercer at Great Waters Course in Greensboro, Georgia.

TEAM

  • The Spartans are tied for 10th with Florida Atlantic at 27-over-par (315) after the first round.
  • UNCG was fifth with 50 pars during the first round.
  • Regarding the other three Southern Conference (SoCon) foes in the field, Mercer is third at 13-over-par (301), Wofford is ninth at 23-over-par (311) and East Tennessee State-par is 14th at 29-over (317).
  • The No. 26-rated Florida Gators lead after day one at 11-over-par (299).

INDIVIDUAL

  • Sophomore Kasey McIlvaine leads the Spartans and is tied for 37th after shooting a six-over-par (78) in the first round on Friday.
  • McIlvaine is tied for fifth on par-five holes, finishing one-under-par and averaging 4.5 strokes on par fives.
  • The other four Spartans in the lineup for the tournament, Julia Baeumken, Elle Burnette, Lulu Leetham and Ava Romfo, each tied for 42nd at seven-over-par (79).
  • Catie Craig and Macie Burcham of Western Kentucky and East Carolina are tied for the individual lead at one-under-par (71).

UP NEXT
The Spartans will begin round two of the Reynolds Lake Oconee Invitational on Saturday at 12:00 p.m. with another shotgun start.
