Romfo, Women’s Golf Stands at Second Following First Day of UNCG Collegiate

Senior Ava Romfo leads the Spartans and is second overall in the tournament after carding 68 and 70 on the first day for a six-under-par (138).
TEAM
- The Spartans scored six-under-par (570) as a team for sole possession of second following the first two rounds of action.
- UNCG finished 20 strokes ahead of crosstown rival North Carolina A&T, which is tied for third with Winthrop at 14-over-par (590).
- High Point is in first at 19-under-par (557).
- As a team, the Spartans made 58 pars and 14 birdies on Monday.
INDIVIDUAL
- Senior Ava Romfo is second in the tournament at six-under-par (138), two strokes shy of the leader, High Point's Ella Perna, who is eight-under-par (136). Romfo led UNCG with five birdies.
- Sophomore Kasey McIlvaine is third on the player leaderboard after carding a 71 and 68 to finish five-under-par (139). She totaled four birdies.
- Competing as an individual, junior Julia Baeumken carded the best round of the day when she finished the second round with a 64. She is now tied for 11th at an even par (144).
- Sophomore Elle Burnette is third on the Spartans and tied for 15th after shooting a 71 and 75 for one-over-par (145).
- Senior Grace Holcomb is three-over-par (147) and tied for 17th after shooting a 72 and 75.
- Freshman Lulu Leetham is five-over-par (149) and stands at 23rd.
- Freshman Sophie Lauture is tied for 41st at 12-over-par (156).
- Senior Gabriela Cruz is 44th at 13-over-par (157).

Tuesday's final round will mark the conclusion of the Spartans' fall slate. They will begin the spring season hosting the Advance Golf Partner Collegiate from Feb. 9-11 in West Palm, Florida.
