Women’s Soccer to Contend Charlotte on Sunday
GREENSBORO, N.C. – The UNC Greensboro (UNCG) women's soccer team will host in-state foe Charlotte on Sunday, Sept. 1 at the UNCG Soccer Stadium with a 1:00 p.m. start time.
This game is part of the UNCG's Rawkin' Welcome Week. The first 50 NC Fusion kids wearing their jersey will receive a free mini soccer ball!

The Spartans are 4-5-1 all-time against the 49ers. The last meeting between the two teams was on Aug. 31, 2023 when they played to a 0-0 draw in Charlotte. UNCG last defeated Charlotte, 2-1, on Aug. 18, 2022 in Greensboro.
LAST TIME OUT FOR THE SPARTANS
UNCG dropped a 1-0 tight battle to No. 22 Colorado on Thursday at the UNCG Soccer Stadium. The Buffaloes scored the game-winning goal at 70:35 on a set piece. Colorado outshot UNCG, 10-6, and the Buffaloes tallied seven corner kicks to the Spartans one.

- The 49ers concluded the 2023 season 9-7-4 overall and 4-3-2 in the American Athletic Conference.
- Charlotte was voted to finish fourth in the 2024 American Preseason Coaches' Poll.
- Macey Bader and Payton Patrick were voted to the 2024 American Watch List.
- Bader currently leads the team with two goals and four points.
- Patrick has chipped in one goal and one assist for three points this season.
- Emma Wakeman has started and played in all five games for the 49ers, giving up 11 goals and tallying 17 saves.
