Women’s Tennis Opens SoCon Slate at Furman

SCOUTING THE SPARTANS

  • UNCG is 2-7 overall on the 2025 campaign.
  • UNCG most recently claimed a 6-1 win over Queens on Sunday in Charlotte, North Carolina.

SCOUTING THE PALADINS

  • The Paladins are ranked 37th nationally in the most recent ITA poll and improved to 6-2 overall with a 4-1 win at Elon on Sunday.
  • Furman seniors Sara Snyder and Ellie Schulson are ranked 58th nationally in doubles.
  • The Furman duo boasts a 10-1 record, including a 7-1 mark in spring dual matches at flight one.
  • Senior Jess Dawson and sophomore Macy Hitchcock are ranked 64th nationally with an 8-2 overall record and a 6-1 spring dual mark.
  • Snyder was named SoCon Player of the Week back on Jan. 21 after picking up a singles win at the No. 2 position and a doubles victory at flight one in a 4-3 Furman upset over 22nd-ranked Alabama. 
  • Furman concluded the 2024 season with a 6-1 conference record and advanced to the finals of the league championships for the seventh-consecutive time, but fell to ETSU, 4-1.

SERIES HISTORY 
The Spartans are 1-14 in the overall series against the Paladins. Furman claimed last season's matchup, 6-1, in Greensboro, North Carolina, on March 28, 2024.
