Track Sends Individuals to Charlotte Invitational this Weekend

GREENSBORO, N.C. – The UNC Greensboro (UNCG) men's track team will be sending individuals to compete at the Charlotte Invitational on Friday and Saturday at Irwin Belk Track and Field Center.

LAST TIME OUT
- UNCG sent individuals to the Duke Invitational and then most of the team to the Dennis Craddock Coaches Classic on April 11 and 12.
- Andrew Hamilton and Samuel Barnard competed in the 800-meter run at the Duke Invitational.
- Hamilton posted a personal best time of 1:52.11 taking home 22nd place, while Barnard clocked in a season best time of 1:52.11, finishing 23rd out of 100 competitors.
- Evan Pena led the way in the 5000-meter run at the Duke Invitational for the Spartans, finishing in 34th place with a time of 14:46.99 and Luke Ward ran a personal best time of 14:57.11, good for 47th place out of 79 competitors.
- Vicky Sosa crossed the finish line in 18:02.54 in the 5000-meter run, placing 57th out of 87 competitors in Durham.
- In Lynchburg, Virginia, 12 Spartans clocked in personal bests.
- Logan Ruffner, who ran the 1500-meter event for the first time, took home first place with a time of 4:03.92.
- Glodi Mvovi ran personal best times in the 800-and 1500-meter runs. He finished 25th out of 96 competitors in the 800-meter run with a time of 1:56.99. He also clocked in a time of 4:08.89, good for 10th out of 64 competitors in the 1500-meter run.
- Emma Berrier and Lillian Douglass placed in the top 10 in the 5000-meter invitational run. Berrier finished with a personal best time of 18:13.06, placing sixth out of 21 competitors. Lillian finished in ninth place with her time of 18:19.44 in her debut of the event. Tenley Douglass followed in 10th place with a personal best time of 18:24.53.
UP NEXT
UNCG will take some time off before competing in the Aggie Classic from Friday, May 2 to Saturday, May 3, hosted by NC A&T at the Marcus T. Johnson Track.
The Spartans will also send select individuals to the Duke Twilight on Sunday, May 4 in Durham, North Carolina, back at the Morris Williams Stadium.
