As the extensive Jackson Library Renovation Project takes another step forward, students, faculty, staff, and visitors can see visible progress outside the building. While the library remains operational to the campus community, UNCG Facilities Design & Construction asks everyone to stay mindful of the work being done.
Work crews have fenced off the library tower facing Walker Avenue. The fence will remain in place through Phase 1, which is expected to run through the fall semester of 2026. The library tower is closed to the public during this phase.
The fence leaves all roadways and most sidewalks open, but drivers and pedestrians should stay alert as construction crews come and go and move heavy equipment.
- Stirling Street, Walker Avenue, Forest Street, and the traffic circle remain open.
- The clock tower will be inaccessible.
- Construction teams will use Walker Avenue to access the site.
- The Kaplan Commons staging area and fencing remains in place.
Students and campus partners can still visit the Rawk and enter the EUC connector. No additional entrances or exits have been closed, but the library can only be entered through the College Avenue side, by the McIver statue or on the EUC side by Jarrell Hall.
