The School of Education will host special events in the coming days centered around encouraging conversation and building research collaboration across local education centers.

On February 25, the Institute for Partnerships in Education (IPiE) is holding its Brown Bag Series: Collaborative Research with Local School Districts. This panel discussion will bring together research leaders in local school districts with SOE faculty and staff to discuss how they can apply research in K-12 schools.

Attendees can submit questions ahead of time using the RSVP form. They are encouraged to bring their lunch with cookies and coffee being provided.

On March 1, the Department of Educational Leadership and Cultural Foundations will host its ELC Critical Conversations (ELCCC). The theme for this free event is “Grounded and Growing: Collective Work to Strengthen Education and Communities.”

The purpose of the Educational Leadership and Cultural Foundations Critical Conversations (ELCCC) is to create dialogues to address the current socio-political climate in the United States. A central goal of the conversations is for participants to walk away with a set of pedagogical tools to use in their practice and daily lives. We seek to extend these critical conversations with faculty, students, teachers, educational leaders, and other community members who are interested in having a positive impact on the world.

The keynote speaker is Dr. Kristal Moore Clemons, National Director of the Children’s Defense Fund’s Freedom Schools.
