It’s Shark Tank meets Ted Talk! Student participants will have 5 minutes and 10 slides to pitch the UNCG Green Fund Committee and convince them to implement your sustainability initiative on campus. This is your chance to be the change you want to see! Two winners will be selected: one by the committee and one via an audience favorite. The Green Fund operates as an on-campus grant program that invests in environmental projects to further UNCG’s sustainability mission. Participants should review the UNCG Green Fund webpage to familiarize themselves with the types of projects the committee has funded in the past. To give some perspective on the size of the projects we can support, participants should also keep in mind that the Green Fund operates with a $56,000 annual budget and typically awards 10-12 projects a year for an average of $5,000. However, you do not have to include a budget in your pitch. We just want to hear your idea and be inspired by the potential impact it can have. We highly encourage participants to schedule at least one consultation with the UNCG Communications Lab. Contact Gia Coturri Sorenson for support in the Lab: gmcoturr@uncg.edu Questions about the event? Contact Sean MacInnes: s_macinn@uncg.edu Guidelines: Presenters will have 5 minutes and are allowed 10 slides. Projects may be for campus infrastructure that conserves resources, sustainability education, research, or professional development that benefits students. Winners will work with the Office of Sustainability and the Green Fund committee to see their projects implemented in the spring.
