Description
Let’s connect! Staff from across the museum will be available to chat with visitors in the Making Connections: Art, Place, and Relationships exhibition from 12 to 1 pm on Fridays from September 20 to November 22. These informal conversations are a touchpoint to chat about the exhibition itself, a specific work of art, or interesting details of the curation and installation processes. There’s no set agenda, and we invite your own perspectives.

Survivor Space is a peer-based support group for survivors of all forms of interpersonal violence. If you have experienced harm by another person in the past, or you are currently experiencing harm by someone you know, this group is designed for you. Survivor Space uses empowered-choice making and community-based support as tools in a survivor’s healing journey. Topics covered in the group can include resiliency building, boundary setting, healthy relationships, conflict management, and increasing self-esteem. The topics are driven by participants- we define what healing looks like for us. Drop-ins to this group are welcome. If you have additional questions about Survivor Space, would like to make an accommodations request for this group, or would like to speak with an advocate, please call 336-334-9839 to schedule an intake appointment.

This event is a service project for Greensboro animals! I have always had a passion for animals and hope to use my dedication to help shelter animals in Greensboro. For this service project, I want to raise awareness for animal shelters and pet adoptions here through this on-campus event hosting animals up for adoption. Along with raising awareness, I also want to fundraise during the event to help get shelters, new toys, beds, treats, and blankets. The goal of the event is to get as many animals as possible adopted, as well as give these animals an opportunity to play with students at UNCG. This event will also give students an opportunity to pet their stress away during the semester during finals week. Learn more at http://uncg.presence.io/event/s-paw-tans-for-good
