Spartan Connect Events | Student Health Services-Ground Floor
Body Positivity is a community-building group that invites students to participate in a positive and informative discussion about body image. A Spartan Well-Being peer will guide participants through two 1-hr sessions. Students will be able to explore their thoughts around body image and discuss the impact external factors (social media, trends, etc.) have on this topic. Students will create SMART goals at the end of the sessions that will help them think and feel more positive about their bodies.

When considering health, we often think only in terms of physical and mental health; however true wellness is much broader. A holistic approach to wellness supports the whole person and encompasses eight dimensions. Each dimension contributes to optimal health and well-being, including physical, emotional, social, intellectual, career, cultural, environmental, and financial wellness. This presentation will explore the eight dimensions of wellness, provide an opportunity for you to examine your relationship with each dimension, and discover new ways to support your health and wellness.

Do you wish you had more strategies to cope with challenging emotions?  Emotions can be confusing, frightening, or overwhelming when we don’t have the skills to navigate them. To survive, some of us have learned unhelpful methods to try and cope with our challenging emotions. This group teaches helpful skills in mindfulness, emotion regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness to support you in effectively responding to your emotions.   Join us to learn and practice new skills to begin to build more emotional resilience!

Help save a life and donate blood at the next EUC- SGA Blood Drive taking place on Tuesday, November 12.

Those who come to give blood November 1-17, 2024, will receive a $10 e-gift card* AND will automatically be entered into a national drawing for a chance to win a $7,000 gift card.^^ There will be two lucky winners nationwide!  Eligible donors (age 18 in most states, 19 in Alabama and Nebraska, and 21 in Mississippi) of all blood types and procedure types who present to give blood November 1-17, 2024 will automatically be entered into the giveaway. Those under 18 will not be eligible to win, however they can still receive the $10 e-gift card, if they present to give during the promotional dates and have an email on file. In most instances, the e-gift card fulfillment email will be delivered to donors wirhin 30 days who have an email on file from American Red Cross (no-reply@givebloodtoday.redcrossblood.org) and will have a subject line of “Thank You.”
