Minerva Statue
Minerva in the Spring.
This statue is Minerva, the Goddess of Wisdom. Spiro, the Spartan mascot, represents UNCG athletics while Minerva represents academics. Minerva is featured on the diploma and on the school seal.

More info

This statue is the site of one of UNCG's most popular school tradition. This tradition dictates that when students need good luck on an exam, they can take a bite from an apple and leave it here in hopes Minerva will grant them wisdom.

Right behind the statue is the campus swing set, a popular spot for students taking a break between classes.
